Operant conditioning is what we use for most of our training; we allow the dog to make the decision to perform a certain behavior, and if it is a desirable one we reinforce it. Over time and repetition the dog learns which choices lead to reinforcement and will make those choices almost exclusively. This way of training also play a crucial role in service dogs that will perform intelligent disobedience to keep you safe.
